In June 2000, the CDC assembled a collection of government scientists, high-level officials from the CDC and FDA, the top vaccine specialist from the World health Organization, and representatives from every major vaccine manufacturers. The impetus for this secret meeting was a study performed by CDC epidemiologist Tom Verstraeten. Verstraeten had analyzed the medical records of 100,000 children in the CDC database and discovered a link between thimerosal and neurological disorders, such as speech delays, attention-deficit disorder, hyperactivity, and autism.
What was most interesting according to meeting transcripts, rather than being concerned about remedying the dangerous side effects of the vaccines, many attendees were concerned about lawsuits and the economic effect that the information would have on the pharmaceutical companies. Some worried that the information would shake public trust in life-saving vaccines, putting children’s lives at risk.
It is time that the scientific and medical community formulate safe vaccines rather than worrying about covering their *!!.
