In a prior blog, I related how homeopathic Opium can be used to reverse “post-op ilius” a condition in which the peristaltic action of the intestines shuts down due to bowel surgery and/or the use of morphine. With only one or two doses of a 200c Opium, the bowels begin to return to their normal function allowing gas and stool to pass.
Another use for homeopathic opium that I have found very helpful is altitude sickness. The use of opium or coca for altitude sickness dates back centuries to the period when the Inca Empire covered much of present day Ecuador, Peru, and Chile.
They inherited the consumption of coca leaves from cultures that cultivated and consumed this plant. For them, coca leaf was sacred and could only be used by the Inca nobility. The only exception were the Chasquis (people who ran through the Andes transmitting messages for the Incas). This tradition of chewing coca leaves continues today and is commonly used for those climbing to Machu Picchu.
Here in the U.S. it can be difficult to acquire coca leaves. However, homeopathic Opium works just as well if not better. Over the years that I have been practicing medicine I’ve listened to many patients complain of experiencing headache, fatigue, insomnia and vomiting when traveling to their mountain cabin or skiing. I recommend that they take Homeopathic Opium 30c every 3-4 hours as needed. Usually, within 2-3 doses their symptoms are alleviated.
